Summary:


Oversees all aspects of Landstar Operations Support and BCO retention efforts, including Operations Support, Night Ops, Licensing and Permits, Field Operations Centers, Contractor Services and LCAPP teams as well as serving as President of Landstar's BCO Benevolence Fund.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Direct and coordinates the development, implementation and execution of the truckload capacity development plan for Landstar, with an emphasis on growing the available supply by ensuring the retention of current BCOs
  • Coordinate with IT leadership and Capacity Development Product Manager to ensure applications under BCO retention sponsorship are working as designed, continuously developed, improved upon and meet stated objectives
  • Act as project sponsor, when applicable, and manage risks, assumptions, issues and decisions related to IT initiatives developed for BCO retention
  • Use data analytics to focus on volume trends, including patterns, and identify opportunities for improving quality and results
  • Oversee all activities of the Field Operations Centers, including Orientation and CABS curriculum, ensuring the most modern methodology and up-to-date topics


  • Oversee the annual KPI and goal setting process; communicate company's shared goals


  • Review and approve/deny contractor loans at the Vice President level (or below)
  • Develop and manage department budgets
  • Oversee all activities of the Ops Support and Night Ops teams, including escalated service incidents
  • Oversee all activities of Landstar's Permit teams, including coordination of oversize/overweight permits, and other specialized commodity permitting



Required Minimum Experience and Education:



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Fifteen years' related experience



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent leadership skills
