About the College of Science and Engineering: The College of Science & Engineering (CSE) currently offers the largest selection of undergraduate and graduate programs within the university and aspires to be a leading college committed to excellence in research and education with a major emphasis on innovative teaching and interdisciplinary research and scholarship. CSE offers 4 undergraduate majors in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, and several MS and PhD degrees in sustainable energy and environment, ICT, and Engineering Management and Decision Sciences. CSE faculty members are internationally recognized for pursuing high-impact research addressing societal and economic needs in Qatar and globally. Position: The Mechanical Engineering Program at the College of Science and Engineering (CSE), HBKU, is seeking applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position is in the general area of Engineering Design, with preference given to candidates who have expertise in data-driven and AI-augmented design methods, model-based design for complex products, design for smart and resilient systems, human - centered and bio - inspired design, sustainable and circular design, and design for reliability, safety, and high performance under extreme environments. Candidates with expertise in integrated virtual - physical design workflows, as well as those who advance innovative engineering design education through project - based learning, multidisciplinary design experiences, and entrepreneurship - oriented curricula, are particularly encouraged to apply.
