Job Summary
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and lighting assembly and testing using standard and specialized test and measurement equipment in a manufacturing production environment.
- Perform work to standard work instructions and operating procedures.
- Work from blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools and test equipment
- Test faulty equipment and inspects mechanical and electrical units
- Controls diagnose malfunctions of units
- Repairs or replaces defective units and adjust equipment or machines
- Wire prep, abrading, Etch, prime, pre coat wires and connectors
- Able to work with working parts or components which require special care in handling or other procedures which require good dexterity and facility in use of a variety of hand tools
- May make minor procedural decisions in soldering, fitting, etc., but always within established guidelines
- Must be able to interpret instructions to mix various epoxies and paints for marking bonding
- Perform all appropriate and required documentation for technical assembly and test processes with calibrated tools and equipment. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Be able to verify quality of work, regarding, quality, assembly, solder, and lighting. Perform other assignments as required.
- Performs other duties as required
Work Environment and Safety
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
- Mandatory safety glasses in production locations
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings/specifications
- Effective use of High School basic math and algebra
- Read and understand internal procedures and policies.
- Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.
- Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
- Knowledge with using solder system, wire stripper and crimpers preferred
Required Experience and Education
- Vocational, High School diploma, or general education degree (GED); or
- 1- 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
