Cybersecurity Department

The OT Cybersecurity Intern supports the global Cybersecurity team in protecting Vantage Data Centers' Operational Technology (OT) environments, including industrial control systems (ICS), automation platforms, and supporting infrastructure. This role provides handson exposure to cybersecurity in a missioncritical datacenter environment and builds foundational knowledge across OT, IT, and cybersecurity domains. The intern will assist with monitoring, documentation, risk analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen security while enabling safe and reliable operations

Position Overview
This role will be based in Denver, CO, Ashburn, VA or Phoenix, AZ

The OT Cybersecurity Intern plays a key role in supporting Vantage Data Centers' global Cybersecurity team by helping protect Operational Technology (OT) environments across missioncritical data centers. This internship offers handson exposure to industrial control systems (ICS), automation platforms, and supporting infrastructure, providing foundational experience across OT, IT, and cybersecurity domains.

In this role, the intern will assist with monitoring security alerts, supporting vulnerability management, contributing to documentation, and participating in incident review activities. The position also offers the opportunity to collaborate with crossfunctional teams-including Engineering, IT, Facilities, and Operations-while contributing to ongoing security improvements and riskmanagement initiatives.

Essential Functions

* Support analysis and initial triage of cybersecurity alerts and incidents affecting OT and ICS environments, assisting with impact and severity determination

* Assist with OT vulnerability management activities, including asset tracking, documentation, and remediation coordination

* Support secure deployment of OTrelated cybersecurity hardware, software, and tools at new and existing sites

* Contribute to the development and maintenance of OT cybersecurity documentation, including procedures, standards, job aids, and diagrams

* Assist with monitoring compliance to cybersecurity policies, standards, and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)

* Participate in postincident reviews and lessonslearned activities to support continuous improvement

* Collaborate with OT, IT, Engineering, Facilities, and Operations teams to support secure and reliable operations

* Conduct research on cybersecurity solutions and emerging OT security risks and document findings

* Understand how cybersecurity enables safe, reliable operations and supports business objectives

* Lead or contribute to a defined cybersecurity project aligned with OT security initiatives and organizational goals

Job Requirements

* Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate of, a degree program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

* Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, networking, automation, or industrial systems

* Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity concepts and networking principles

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

* Basic understanding of OT / ICS environments and the differences between OT, IT, and cybersecurity control models

* Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST SP 80053, NIST SP 80082, or ISO 27001

* Experience creating SOPs, job aids, or technical documentation
* Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase overtime as business evolves.

Additional Details

* Salary Range: $20-$25/hr.

* We will have 2 intern cohort timeframes to choose from: June 1st, 2026 - August 7th, 2026 and June 22nd, 2026 - August 28th, 2026
