Job Summary

Apply signal processing and machine learning techniques to develop new algorithms for understanding ECG and other medical data. These algorithms improve outcomes and quality of life for our patients.

Essential Functions

• With direction from permanent staff, conduct applied research on algorithms to detect / predict patient conditions.
• Study published work to inform research plans.
• Collaborate with teams of Physicians, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Specialists, to understand needs, develop plans, and execute research projects.
• Participate in the development of system architectures for training, testing, and deploying machine learning models.
• Manage aspects of research projects including scope, resources, and schedule.
• Comply with development processes, tools, and best practices within the R&D organization.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

• B.S. Degree, in computer engineering / computer science or related field with an emphasis on digital signal processing and machine learning. Enrollment in an M.S. or Ph.D. degree program that includes training in machine learning theory and application.
• Typically, some practical experience with machine learning or signal processing in industry or an academic lab.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with object-oriented and scripting languages, preferably Python.
• Exposure to cloud computing and big data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
