Summary: Plan and coordinate work activities necessary for the maintenance and repair of production and facility equipment. Assume supervisory role in the absence of the Maintenance Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant Supervisor is to safely and efficiently perform operational duties on a daily basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assumes the role of Supervisor in the absence of the Maintenance Manager; includes handling vacation requests, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions. Qualifications: Knowledge of all functions of the Maintenance department. Understand all production/facility equipment functions and department routines. Demonstrated ability to delegate work, motivate maintenance personnel and follow-up to job completion. Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 7am - 4:30pm with overtime and 24/7 on call capabilities based on business needs. This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily into our Brownsville, TN plant. Must have knowledge and experience reading hydraulics and electrical prints. Lean manufacturing and CMMS experience a big plus. Preventative maintenance, PLC and robotics experience preferred. Hands on, organized and a safety expert. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and Trade School certification preferred. 2 to 5 years' maintenance experience and prior leadership roles in a manufacturing maintenance environment. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions and equipment manuals. Must be able to communicate well verbally with others. Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills and a solid understanding of equipment specifications / tolerances required. Reasoning Ability: Ability to sort out several problems at a time. Demonstrate critical thought in troubleshooting and planning of work activities. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to meet and retain requirements for a forklift license.
