Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Concierge in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. Bring a customer-service mindset, teamwork, and integrity as you help maintain a respectful, well-run environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, observe for unusual conditions, and assist with visitor check-in and/or directing individuals to the appropriate department in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, contacting the appropriate agency and/or supervisor, and coordinating response until relieved.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate timely updates to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 6+ months of security experience.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
