Job Summary

The Thermodynamics Engineer is responsible for performing advanced thermal analysis in support of aerospace programs. This role focuses on developing and applying complex thermal and structural models to evaluate system performance under demanding operational conditions. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and presents technical findings to program stakeholders and senior leadership. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Job Responsibilities




  • Develop complex thermal analysis models, including thermal structural analysis and aeroheating applications.



  • Perform detailed thermal modeling and simulation to support aerospace system design and validation.



  • Analyze and interpret simulation results to provide actionable engineering recommendations.



  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to program teams and senior leadership.



  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.



  • Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering methods and analysis tools.




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in thermal modeling and analysis.



  • At least 2 years of experience using Siemens Simcenter 3D Thermal (NX Thermal) in a professional or research environment.



  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.



  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and time management skills.



  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.




Education




  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required.



  • Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.




Work Experience




  • 7+ years of progressive experience in thermal modeling and thermal structural analysis within an engineering environment.



  • Experience supporting aerospace or related high-technology programs preferred.
