Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking to hire a
Senior Business Operations Manager to support our Lorton Complex. The Senior Business Operations Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Site Lead, ensuring operational excellence, financial oversight, and organizational effectiveness across the Lorton Complex and with all contracts. This role provides leadership in business planning, budget management, cross-functional coordination, and customer engagement to ensure contract performance, profitability, and mission success.
The ideal candidate brings experience in operations, contract support, or business management within a complex corporate or government environment. This individual is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of operating at both strategic and tactical levels while maintaining strong executive presence.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Partner with the Site Lead to develop and execute business strategy, goals, and performance objectives
- Support long-range planning initiatives and organizational development efforts
- Track milestones, deliverables, and timelines for all active projects and operational initiatives
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Financial Management & Contract Oversight
- Collaborate with Finance, Project Controls, and Contracts to forecast revenue, monitor profitability, and track budget performance
- Monitor and manage all contract-related expenses to ensure alignment with financial targets
- Review and approve invoices, manage corporate credit card expenditures, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Support modifications to customer licensing agreements in coordination with Contracts
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with external customers and stakeholders
- Assist the Site Lead in preparing and delivering executive-level briefings to senior management and customers
- Produce executive presentations, performance dashboards, and project status reports
- Communicate key deliverables, financial insights, and operational updates across multiple levels of leadership
- Oversee purchasing of materials and coordinate with Asset Management to ensure proper inventory tracking and accountability
- Partner with Facilities Management to review vendor quotes, track facility costs, and support operational improvements
- Ensure operational resources are aligned with program requirements and growth projections
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive professional experience in business operations, contract management, or program support
- Demonstrated experience supporting government or corporate contracts preferred
- Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally across Finance, Contracts, Project Controls, Facilities, and Senior Leadership

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Visio, Microsoft Project, and other project management and reporting tools
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S./B.A.) required; advanced degree preferred
Clearance Requirements:
- TS/SCI or the able to obtain one
