Sr. Technical Writer III (6403)

As Sr. Technical Writer III,you'll collaborate closely with subject matter experts, Technical Fellows, capture teams, and proposal managers to develop compelling, compliant proposal content for Federal government clients. You will translate complex technical solutions across AI/ML, DevSecOps, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise IT into clear, persuasive narratives that align with solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria. Your work will directly contribute to MetroStar's growth by strengthening the quality and competitiveness of our proposal submissions.

What you'll do:



  • Lead development of proposal content across all volumes and sections in response to Federal government solicitations, including Technical, Management, Past Performance, Resumes, etc.
  • Analyze RFP/RFQ requirements (Sections L & M) and develop structured, evaluator-focused content strategies.
  • Interview SMEs, solution architects, and key personnel to extract technical details and transform them into clear, compliant, and compelling narratives.
  • Integrate win themes, discriminators, and value propositions to elevate proposals from compliant to competitive.
  • Ensure consistency of voice, terminology, and messaging across volumes and contributors.
  • Support solution sessions, draft reviews, and color team recovery cycles.
  • Partner with proposal managers and contributors to ensure deliverables align with proposal schedules and internal quality standards.


What you bring (the requirements for the role):



  • An active or ability to obtain a security clearance - Secret or above.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Federal government proposal responses.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing highly technical proposal content in one or more of the following areas: AI/ML, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Enterprise IT.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, compliant, and compelling proposal narratives aligned to solicitation requirements.
  • Proven experience collaborating with capture managers, proposal managers, technical SMEs, architects, and cross-functional teams in deadline-driven environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word (styles, cross-references, formatting, document integration, and complex document management).
  • Strong understanding of Federal proposal compliance requirements and structured proposal development processes (e.g., Shipley or similar methodologies).


SALARY RANGE: $116,000 - $124,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:



  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:


    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
