National Grid is hiring a Lead Coordinator (Electric Work Methods), Electric Methods and Standards for a hybrid role local to Attleboro, Massachusetts. Job Purpose
The Lead Coordinator, Electric Work Methods is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and leadership in electrical work methods, procedures, and standards. This role supports field operations by ensuring work methods are aligned with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices, while promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement. Key Accountabilities
* Provide support for the operations, maintenance, and construction of National Grid's electric distribution and transmission systems. * Work closely with operations personnel to ensure construction standards, electrical operating procedures, and work methods are consistently implemented. * Perform post-construction audits; compile reports documenting findings, corrective actions, and follow-up. * Investigate equipment issues, failures, and near misses in collaboration with manufacturers and vendors; develop recommendations for corrective and preventative actions. * Evaluate new equipment, tools, and technologies that improve safety, ergonomics, reliability, or efficiency; provide specifications and guidance to support successful procurement and implementation. * Support incident analyses (IAs) as a team member and complete assigned corrective actions. * Review, revise, and develop Electrical Operating Procedures (EOPs) and work methods in coordination with Safety, Training, Environmental, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders. * Provide technical guidance and leadership to promote a strong safety culture and consistent application of work methods across regions. * Participate in or lead special programs, pilot initiatives, and cross-functional projects as required. * Chair or participate in union/management committees related to operational practices, equipment, tools, vehicles, and safety when necessary. * Maintain strong communication with field leadership and management by participating in safety meetings and addressing operational concerns when requested. * Respond to and provide support during local, regional, or system-wide emergencies, including storm response and mutual assistance efforts. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of higher education, training, or work experience will be considered. * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical operations. * Experience with overhead and/or underground distribution systems is required; experience in transmission, substation, or electric operations and maintenance is considered a strong asset. * Strong knowledge of electrical operating procedures, construction practices, and work methods with safety as the primary focus. * Familiarity with regulatory standards and the ability to interpret and apply them in the interest of the company. * Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and with union-represented employees. * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Knowledge of National Grid systems and applications is preferred. * Completion of Electrical Operating Procedure (EOP) training courses, such as Clearance and Control and Personal Protective Grounding, is preferred or required within a defined timeframe. * Ability and willingness to support off-hours work, emergency response, and overnight travel as required.
