Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented 401(k) Specialist to administer and support the company's retirement plans. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate plan administration, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service to employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of qualified retirement plans, ERISA regulations, and day-to-day plan operations. Key Responsibilities: Administer company 401(k) and related retirement plans in compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding plan features, eligibility, enrollments, loans, distributions, and rollovers Coordinate with third-party administrators (TPAs), recordkeepers, trustees, and payroll providers Perform plan testing including ADP/ACP, coverage, and nondiscrimination testing Review and reconcile payroll contributions, employer matches, and profit-sharing contributions Monitor plan compliance, manage corrections, and support audits as needed Prepare and review required filings such as Form 5500 and related schedules Assist with plan amendments, conversions, and vendor transitions Maintain accurate plan documentation and strong internal controls Support employee education sessions and retirement communications Qualifications 3+ years of experience in 401(k) or qualified retirement plan administration Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations Experience working with TPAs, recordkeepers, and payroll systems High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and benefits administration systems Preferred Qualifications QKA, QPA, CPFA, or similar certification Experience supporting multiple plans or large plan sponsors Background in benefits administration, payroll, or HR operations Compensation & Benefits Our client offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match, paid time off and holidays, and support for professional development and certification advancement.
