DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will serve as the in-house site manager for the institution's computer system. You will provide a broad range of support for all IT related hardware, software, and systems within the facility including networked and non-networked equipment, custom developed and commercial software, and employee work stations. You will also work closely with all departments regarding their computer system applications, evaluate the need for additional equipment, and provide help desk support to all users. This role requires effective communication and analytical skills to research technical issues and make appropriate recommendations. In addition, you will serve as the liaison with the Bureau of Information Technology for computer equipment and installation, contact vendors regarding system malfunctions, perform yearly routine maintenance, and requisition equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
