What We're Looking For

A highly skilled Engineering Specialist - Kitchen & Refrigeration Mechanic II to perform critical repair, maintenance, and preventive services on commercial kitchen and refrigeration systems across the property. This technical role requires deep mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience working with cooking and refrigeration equipment such as fryers, grills, ice machines, coolers, and freezers. The ideal candidate will operate with minimal supervision, using expert diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to ensure equipment reliability, compliance, and guest satisfaction.

  • A safety-conscious technician who adheres to all regulatory standards, hotel procedures, and best practices in equipment handling.
  • A reliable and motivated individual who takes ownership of responsibilities, works with minimal supervision, and delivers consistent results.

What You Will Do:

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and determine and implement appropriate repairs in a timely manner.
  • Repair or replace compressors, thermostats, pressure stats, fans, motors, belts, pulleys, wiring, and other mechanical or electrical components.
  • Service evaporators, condensers, receivers, and valves, including lubrication, coil cleaning, and filter replacement.
  • Safely reassemble and test equipment following repairs to ensure optimal function and compliance with performance standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment; proactively report any safety concerns or incidents.
  • Maintain detailed service records and collaborate with Engineering leadership to support hotel operations and minimize downtime.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to service requests and guest-related equipment issues, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
  • Participate in required trainings, attend scheduled meetings, and remain flexible to work varied shifts based on operational needs.

Your Experience Should Include:

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Strong computer skills, including basic familiarity with Windows-based systems.
  • Ability to regularly push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members, leaders and guests required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
