Job Description

Position Summary

The Lead, Collections Quality role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of collections processes through proactive quality reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. This position manages critical functions including Energy Assistance programs, outside collections referral pathways. As well as bankruptcy portfolio oversight. The role serves as a key liaison between customers, internal departments, external agencies and vendors, as well as legal representatives. Additional responsibilities include vendor management, reporting, and collections-based account investigations.

What You'll Do:

  • Proactively reviews collections processes to identify and implement quality-based improvements.

  • Manage the Energy Assistance customer database with ongoing analysis, quality reviews, and reporting, while managing a team to respond to inbound inquiries on assistance from both customers and energy assistance agencies.

  • Manage the outside collections referral process and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure effective performance, compliance, and alignment with company standards.

  • Oversee the bankruptcy portfolio from initial notification through completion of the legal process, collaborating closely with back-office teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution.

  • Leads a team responsible for Energy Assistance, bankruptcy management, and collections quality activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across all workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business Finance, statistics, or related field preferred

  • 7+ Years analytical experience in a business environment required

  • Experience working with business information systems, including SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle or similar.

  • Proven ability to deliver customer-focused solutions while managing complex billing inquiries, escalated issues, and assistance programs.

  • Strong expertise in collections risk management, including process improvement, bankruptcy and probate case handling, and vendor oversight.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to effectively partner with customers, internal teams, external agencies, and legal counsel.

We offer a competitive salary range of $114,700 to $166,450 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
