Other Information

As one of the Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis department's longest-standing and most central programs, this position is essential for sustaining the department's mission of "preparing leaders to critically shape and transform educational issues, policies and practices." The students served by this program-highly talented professionals preparing for school leadership-go on to influence teachers, support students, and engage communities across Missouri. Their work produces positive, lasting impact throughout the state and contributes to the development of leaders who serve nationally.

This aligns directly with the College mission, which "prepares and supports professionals in education, information, lifespan, and intervention sciences that improve the quality of life and economic development for the people of Missouri, the nation and the world." By preparing effective school leaders, this position helps fulfill the college's commitment to educational improvement, community engagement, and statewide service.

Finally, the position directly advances Power the Roar and its priority that "Missouri is where leadership is made." The program prepares leaders who become "changemakers, problem solvers and community builders"-the very qualities at the heart of the University of Missouri's mission and identity. Without this position, ELPA's ability to develop and support these leaders would be significantly diminished.
