The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Financial Services Assistant to support the financial operations of over 250 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) within the Student Engagement & Student Union department on the Daytona Beach campus. This role serves as the primary liaison for student organization financial processes, ensuring compliance with university policies while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, financially savvy, and comfortable working collaboratively with students, university departments, and campus leadership.

Essential Job Functions
  • Serve as the primary financial contact for over 250 Registered Student Organizations.

  • Facilitate and oversee the RSO on-campus banking program.

  • Support procurement needs including p-card purchases, reimbursements, check requests, and vendor payments.

  • Serve as the primary department corporate card holder for RSO transactions; review, verify, reconcile, and file reports.

  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve reconciling items and ensure compliance.

  • Create and maintain Campus Groups RSO forms to meet university accounting requirements.

  • Process and track RSO financial transactions in the Campus Groups finance system.

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of all RSO agency accounts.

  • Support stewardship and proper use of restricted and donor funds in partnership with the Dean of Students, Finance Manager, and Advancement.

  • Provide financial training and guidance to RSO officers, including Treasurer and Officer trainings.

  • Assist with SGA funding processes and fundraising guidance.

  • Facilitate closure of off-campus bank accounts as needed.

  • Execute year-end closing and opening procedures for RSO accounts.

General Office & Event Support

  • Provide financial and operational support for major campus events such as Blue & Gold Week, Homecoming, and Orientation.

  • Assist with RSO travel coordination and SGA/SESU transactions as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Student Engagement & Student Union team on large-scale programming initiatives.

  • Serve as essential personnel during campus emergencies as designated.

Compensation

The hourly pay rate for this position isup to $19.89.The final offer will consider the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience, along with applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree orHigh school diploma/GED with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Required Experience

  • 1-3 years of work-related experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with bookkeeping, accounting systems, and budget ledgers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to quickly learn new systems.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to reconcile discrepancies.

  • Ability to train and guide student leaders on financial procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education or student affairs.

  • Familiarity with Workday or similar enterprise financial systems.

  • Experience working with student organizations or agency accounts.
