ABOUT THE ROLE As a CDL Truck Driver, you are responsible for safely transporting materials across multiple states and supporting job site operations through delivery, unloading, and equipment handling activities. This role includes performing thorough vehicle and trailer inspections, ensuring proper load securement, maintaining accurate DOT documentation, and following all regulatory and company safety standards. You will operate in a fast-paced environment where reliability, attention to detail, and safe driving practices are essential to supporting project schedules and job site success. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Completes pre-operational and post-operational inspections on tractors, trailers, and related equipment, and submits condition reports
- Operates as an interstate driver across Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Indiana, and other job locations as needed
- Reviews trucking schedules and Bills of Lading to determine accurate delivery assignments
- Completes all required DOT and company paperwork accurately and on time
- Maintains digital logs using JJ Keller to ensure DOT compliance requirements are met
- Follows all Wells and DOT load securement standards using straps, chains, binders, and other required equipment
- Conducts routine maintenance checks, including DVIR completion, fueling, and minor repairs as needed
- Ensures required permits are obtained from dispatch before leaving for job sites and communicates any issues immediately
- Delivers materials to customers safely and within scheduled timeframes
- Operates company vehicles and equipment in compliance with all DOT and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintains a clean, organized truck and supports yard housekeeping, including snow removal and debris cleanup as needed
- Adheres to all safety standards in the yard and on job sites while continuously seeking process improvements and efficiency gains
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We're looking for a highly reliable and safety-focused CDL driver with experience operating tractor-trailers and hauling heavy or oversize loads. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a proven track record of safe driving, and the ability to accurately secure loads and follow DOT regulations. This individual is dependable, professional in communication, able to work flexible schedules, and committed to maintaining high safety and performance standards on the road and at job sites. IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience driving tractor/trailers on public roadways is required.
- Valid Class A commercial driver License Tier 1, T endorsement, with a clear driving record/history is required.
- Ability to physically secure loads to trailers using chains, straps and clamps.
- Ability to drive a tractor/trailer while hauling oversize and heavy loads.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
- Ability to get to work on time, daily.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including occasional overnights and weekends.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
- Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
- Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round
- Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
