Exentec is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of factory automation equipment for industries such as semiconductor, medical, automotive, and aerospace. This role works closely with project engineers from concept through production and requires strong CAD skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Complete 3D modeling and finalize mechanical designs for engineering projects.
  • Create detailed and assembly drawings, BOMs, and commercial part specifications; enter data into the ERP system.
  • Apply knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and specifications for sheetmetal enclosures and mechanical components.
  • Participate in internal and customer design reviews.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and account managers to select components that meet cost and leadtime goals.
  • Support Manufacturing during system builds to ensure compliance with design intent and industry standards.
  • Assist Field Service teams with installation, operation, retrofits, and repairs of Exentecdesigned systems.
  • Design with cost, manufacturability, and testability in mind.
  • Occasionally work outside normal business hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Show your expertise
  • AS degree in Mechanical Design Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in OEM or factory automation design.
  • Familiarity with the full design cycle-from concept through detailing and release to production.
  • Proficiency with Inventor or SolidWorks (ProE experience considered).
  • Strong understanding of drawing standards, formatting, dimensioning, and basic GD&T.
  • General knowledge of electrical cable harness components and design.
  • Selfmotivated, proactive, and able to work independently while asking questions when needed.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and positive representation of the organization.
