Job Description




As a Security Officer - Badge Control Desk in Tuscaloosa, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and support visitor and vendor check-in while maintaining clear, professional communication. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, write reports, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a chemical or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Coordinate vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit, including directing traffic flow, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining access logs per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting on-site response teams.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, process areas, and the perimeter to observe and report unusual conditions; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
