To support this transformation, we are seeking a Social Story Hunter & Community Leadto drive our efforts in user-generated content discovery and community story amplification. With millions of passionate users of Microsoft commercial products (e.g. Microsoft 365, Excel, Outlook, Azure, GitHub, Visual Studio (VS) Code, and more), we aim to give our advocates a megaphone putting their amazing stories, use cases, tweets and TikTok's in front of millions of Microsoft social followers and injected into our storytelling engines (customer evidence, paid campaigns, eCommerce, and more).

Ideal candidates for this role speak the language of social and have the mindset of a journalist hunting for their next great feature. Candidates should understand platform nuances (e.g. Reddit vs. Discord vs. TikTok) and know the formula to producing a hook-worthy story. Experience in software, cloud, or developer communities is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage social listening tools and community monitoring toidentify,validateand sourceusergeneratedcontent (UGC) and community stories

  • Partner with creative and production teams to capitalize on communitystoriesfor further creative and campaign development

  • Partner with social strategists to ensure user generated stories meet the needs of the channel editorial mix, tone of voice, and vision

  • Build a framework and rubric for which stories will meet our bar for quality, creativity, and use cases

  • Co-manage a team of community vendors who will aid in the discovery,outreachand UGC management

  • Ownership of the governance and standards for usage of content,maintainingahigh-barfor privacy, security, and legal rigor.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field AND 1+ year(s) integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), marketing strategy, marketing operations, or related work experience OR equivalent experience.

Preferred

  • 5+ year(s) social media, campaign, marketing strategy, or related work experience OR equivalent experience.

  • Ideal experience with software, cloud,developeror technical communities is preferred.

  • Social agency or in-house social teams OR working within a newsroom or publicationsourcing stories from social

  • Experience withrightsmanagement,usage of content and collaborating with legal teams

Integrated Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
