Leidos is seeking a Manufacturing Process Specialist to support our Mechanical Manufacturing Facility (MMF) by managing manufacturing system data, process documentation and MES execution accuracy.

This role serves as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Solumina MES, authors and maintains MES process plans based on Manufacturing Engineering direction, manages MBOM integrity, and facilitates standardized documentation across MMF.

This is a hands-on, system-focused role requiring strong attention to detail, cross-functional coordination, and ownership of manufacturing data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • MES/Solumina
    • Author and maintain MES process plans based on ME-provided work instructions.
    • Serve as the Solumina Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MMF for day-to-day usage.
    • Facilitate Solumina training for MMF ME and Machining teams (new users, refreshers, updates).
    • Develop and maintain MMF Solumina job aids, standards, and usage best practices.
    • Act as first-level support for Solumina questions and issues within MMF.
  • MBOM & Manufacturing Data Control
    • Create raw material part numbers from Manufacturing Engineering input.
    • Create, update, and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) IAW ME guidance.
    • Review part revisions with Manufacturing Engineering and implement approved updates.
  • MMF SOP Development
    • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to document existing, approved processes.
    • Draft SOPs based on provided input; route for review, approval, and release.
    • Transfer draft SOPs to standard company formats and release in PLM/Quality Management System.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production support, planning, or manufacturing systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing ERP, MES or PLM environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and configuration control discipline.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing work instructions and engineering data.
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation authoring.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Solumina MES, Costpoint ERP, and/or Windchill PLM.
  • Prior experience supporting CNC machining, welding, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining SOPs or controlled documentation.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure.
