Barnes Aerospace has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced communications professional to serve in the newly created role of Director, Marketing & Communications . This individual will lead and manage high impact internal and external messaging, emphasizing the company's strategic direction, key initiatives and increased visibility for employees, customers, and other stakeholders. This role will be a trusted partner in the business working with the extended leadership team working closely with our Chief Executive Officer on executive communications to ensure consistency of messaging to our employees to promote a high-performance, one team, one company culture. Core Responsibilities:



  • Accountable leader to engage our current and prospective employees, our customers, the community activity in which we work, and the broader aviation industry at large.
  • Develop and execute global Marketing & Communications strategy to drive people engagement and culture transformation centered on promoting the company brand, vision, and success.
  • Offer oversight of brand standards; serve as a central point of guidance and liaise with the diverse, global strategic marketing teams within each of our business segments.
  • Build out the corporate communication strategy internally to motivate our employees, shape our culture, and create a cohesive team. Provides direct support to CEO and HR, including crafting executive management messages to our workforce and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach the communications team to augment and expand their outreach and creativity for enhanced impact to business results.
  • Identify and leverage effective communication channels to engage and inform diverse, decentralized, global workforce and enhance the organization's cultural competence. Develop the strategic plan and manage the organization's print and digital media, including corporate intranet, website, social media platforms, and e-communication channels.
  • Act as the chief spokesperson for the Company when interfacing with the media/press. Provide media and press guidance and support to Company's executive leadership team.
  • Manage all media relations, direct content creation and storytelling, announcements, editorial placement, and executive level speaking opportunities on behalf of the Company.
  • Generate press opportunities in the form of interviews with reporters, industry events, articles, social media opportunities, etc.
  • Lead and manage event planning and coordination- be responsible for the marketing and communications budget as appropriate.
  • Manage sanctioned press release process and provide oversight for all external communication processes, including press releases, new customer announcements, new service releases, strategic alliance news, etc.



Qualifications:



  • 10+ years' experience in Communications within a corporate environment, including a Corporate Communications leadership role which required daily interaction with the CEO and executive leadership.
  • To be successful, this person must be a hands-on, experienced communicator, strategically minded, results-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities effectively. Ability to form strong relationships with the Leadership team, extended global marketing and communications functions, manage a budget, and other critical internal functions (Sales, HR, Engineering, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to think strategically and make courageous decisions while also getting buy-in & support from executive & business leadership. Experience working with external creative agencies and directly with the press.
  • Must be a working leader; "hands on" and able to meet aggressive deadlines. Excellent writing skills, both print and web content with technical writing experience and the ability to effectively communicate complicated topics in easy to understand terms and representing the voice of the Company and the Chief Executive Officer.



Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree in Business, Communications, or Journalism strongly preferred.
