Under general direction of the School of Medicine Chief Administrative Officer and in collaboration with the Explorer Molecular Imaging Center (EMIC) co-directors, manages all services for the EMIC, including nuclear medicine imaging and/or therapy, and/or computed tomography (CT) imaging for standard of care and research studies. Manages all staff for EMIC, and oversees all financial, administrative, scientific and clinical tasks and operations; oversees development, implementation and regulatory compliance for clinical and research protocols; implements standards related to patient care, clinical, and technical support and equipment usage. Coordinates services with other patient care treatment personnel to assure proper patient care. Develops and revises evaluation and treatment standards to ensure compliance with quality standards as well as organizational and regulatory agency standards. Maintains a productive and harmonious relationship between the research and clinical activities of all Radiology modalities, and with investigators and staff who use EMIC research services. Provides supervision directly and indirectly to technologists and support staff in EMIC radiology modalities; also for clinical research, financial, analytical and lab staff. Oversees employees, enforces policies and procedures. Supervises staff productivity and performance; resolves or escalates daily clinical, research and operational issues. Oversees staff to ensure proper procedures and policies are followed; reviews test results to ensure appropriate application of equipment and imaging systems. Advises employees on interpreting protocols, handling sensitive situations, operating equipment, and resolving technical problems. Heavy clinical demands are placed on these areas by the nature of the clinical caseload of EMIC and it is the responsibility of the manager to accommodate those needs within reason. Responsible for the technical quality of all clinical studies in these imaging modalities and is responsible for providing a rigorous and supportive environment in which the EMIC research enterprise can be successful. Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology and Computed Tomography from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).
- State License: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CTNMT) from the California Dept of Public Health
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
- Bachelor's degree in related areas and/or equivalent experience/training
- At least 3 years of experience in a demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory/management role in an imaging services environment.
- At least 3 years of experience as a practicing nuclear medicine technologist.
- At least 2 years of experience in a mixed human subjects research and clinical service environment.
- Experience in managing imaging services with multiple modalities, including Nuclear Medicine and CT.
- Experience with radioisotopes and knowledge of radiation safety procedures and regulations.
- Experience managing HLPC and metabolic labs.
- Knowledge of radiation safety regulations and procedures when handling radioisotopes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for biological material, including human biological material.
- Clinical practice knowledge and applied background in nuclear medicine and CT.
- Knowledge of relevant terms, concepts, and protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care setting to improve operations.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment in order to operate all relevant technology including relevant analytic equipment; skill to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and software malfunctions in order to resolve or contact appropriate service personnel.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and execute plans to meet deadlines; ability to solve problems and suggest solutions within defined procedures and policies through critical thinking processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing, training and guiding employees on nuclear medicine and CT techniques.
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff to improve clinical and laboratory services.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively work well with others to achieve common goals.
- Ability to work with a variety of patient populations, referring physicians and principal investigators.

Work Environment
