About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. SWCA's Arlington, TX office offers a unique work environment and a diversified client base, including generation/renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, oil and gas, and land development. Your role will be to assist the crew chiefs and field directors on a variety of projects throughout Texas, Oklahoma, or adjacent states. (HR Title = Cultural Resources Technician). This is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt position. Below are some more details associated with the job.

  • Ability to work variable fieldwork schedules, including 6 on /1 off and 10 on /4 off
  • Per diem, housing, and company vehicles provided.
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related use of personal vehicles.

What you will accomplish

  • Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including monitoring, pedestrian and shovel test survey, evaluation testing, and data recovery.
  • Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including the collection of GPS data using Trimble units.
  • Adhere to the safety program and looks out for the safety of others, promptly communicating and mitigating safety hazards.

Experience and qualifications for success

  • A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, methodology, and monitoring
  • Survey 123 or ArcGIS Collector software experience
  • An accredited Field School Certification

Additional Information:

  • Current valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record screening
  • Ability to travel to a location, walk long distances, and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather (including extreme heat and humidity), and rugged terrain
  • Ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Ability to operate full size truck
  • Ability to work variable fieldwork schedules, including 6 on /1 off and 10 on /4 off

An employee in this Arlington, TX-based position can expect an hourly pay rate of $19.31/hour - $25.49/hour. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements, where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
