WGL - Station Leader

The Station Leader oversees field operations and meter service activities within the designated district. Responsibilities include overseeing emergency response, operational planning, and ensuring safe and reliable gas delivery. This role partners with crossfunctional teams to improve operational efficiency and ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Operational Leadership

• Lead daily field operations and meter service activities within the assigned jurisdiction.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of gas service
• Oversee emergency response planning and coordinate onsite response activities as needed.
• Manage the implementation of operational plans and initiatives that support organizational goals.

Operational Oversight & Execution

• Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to operational standards.
• Identify process improvements and collaborate with leadership to implement changes.
• Ensure proper resource allocation, scheduling, and workload management.

Financial & Resource Management

• Partner in the development and management of the station's operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor spending, identify variances, and recommend adjustments based on operational needs.
• Ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

• Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and local stakeholders.
• Manage engagement with regulatory bodies and community partners as needed.

• Communicate operational updates and issues to leadership in a timely manner.

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and coach employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Drive employee development through training, feedback, and performance management.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and internal policies.
• Promote a strong safety culture and reinforce safe work practices.
• Conduct safety reviews, audits, and corrective actions as required.

Risk Management

• Identify operational risks and escalate issues appropriately.
• Lead development and execution of mitigation plans.
• Ensure station activities protect the interests of employees, customers, and the organization.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in gas, electric, or utility operations.
• 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in field operations or related environments.
• Working knowledge of gas utility operations, including distribution, transmission, metering, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with regulatory agencies and industry standards.
• Experience supporting emergency response or crisis management activities.
• Strong communication, problemsolving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive operational results.

We offer a competitive salary range of $149,000 to $260,050per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
