Genesis10 is seeking a Release Train Engineer for a direct hire position with a financial services client located in New York, NY. This is a hybrid position with an anticipated salary range of between $181,000 and $220,000. Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Release Train Engineer to oversee and optimize program level delivery across our Capital Markets Front Office Technology organization. This role is essential in aligning strategic business priorities with technology execution, ensuring disciplined delivery, operational stability, and adherence to financial industry governance standards. The ideal candidate brings deep Capital Markets experience, proven leadership across large scale technology programs, and a strong command of Agile/SAFe methodologies within regulated financial environments alongside expertise on supporting a mature business prioritization process. The RTE will serve as a key facilitator, execution leader, and risk manager for complex, multi year initiatives supporting trading, risk, and post trade functions. Role Objectives: Release Train Engineering
  • Provide end to end leadership for engineering execution across trading, risk, and post trade platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, resiliency expectations, and SDLC best practices.
  • Enhance delivery flow by identifying and resolving technical and operational bottlenecks across order routing, pricing engines, risk aggregation, and settlement processes, leveraging telemetry and quantitative performance metrics.
  • Lead program increment (PI) planning processes, translating regulatory mandates, market structure changes, and technology modernization strategies into actionable and prioritized backlogs. Coordinate cross platform integration activities and manage interdependencies across front office trading systems, market data infrastructure, risk engines, and downstream operational processing tools.
  • Strengthen DevOps disciplines in partnership with SRE/DevOps teams, improving CI/CD maturity, automated testing coverage, environment readiness, and production stability.
  • Oversee system demos to ensure delivery quality, functional accuracy, latency compliance, and adherence to non functional requirements relevant to a regulated financial institution.
  • Drive continuous improvement using defect analytics, incident trends, capacity utilization, and technology KPIs to reduce operational risk and technical debt.
  • Maintain transparency and governance by communicating delivery status, technical risks, integration impacts, and release readiness to senior leaders across Trading, Risk, Technology, and Operations.
Business Prioritization
  • Partner with Product Managers, Front Office business stakeholders, and Portfolio Management teams to ensure clear alignment between strategic business goals and ART delivery commitments.
  • Facilitate prioritization of features, enablers, and regulatory initiatives using data driven evaluation of business value, risk reduction, customer impact, and operational dependencies.
  • Enable trade off discussions between technology, business, and control partners to balance strategic initiatives, run the bank stability, and mandatory regulatory deliverables.
  • Provide visibility into opportunity costs, delivery capacity, and resource constraints to help business sponsors make informed prioritization decisions.
  • Monitor adherence to established prioritization criteria and escalate deviations that may introduce risk, delivery delays, or misalignment with enterprise strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification required.
  • Additional certifications such as PMP, SPC, or other agile certifications are a plus.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in project/program management within financial services.
  • 5+ years working in Capital Markets with strong understanding of trading, risk, operations, and regulatory frameworks.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer or Agile Program Manager in a scaled agile environment.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating business and technology prioritization discussions in a regulated or capital constrained environment.
  • Proven ability to manage large, multi year portfolios or transformation initiatives within enterprise financial organizations.
Skills
