Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Project Designer leads the conceptual and detailed design of projects from inception to completion. This role requires a combination of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills to deliver innovative, high-quality design solutions while coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:



  • Lead design concepts, planning, and development for multiple projects.
  • Ensure designs meet client objectives, budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, including design milestones, budgets, and schedules.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and constructability.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
  • Present design solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, civil, etc.) to integrate technical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Implement project reviews and design quality checks.
  • Proficient use of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and project management software is a plus.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in project design and management, preferably in a professional design firm.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual and technical design skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and client relations skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and mentor junior staff.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainable design practices.


Key Competencies



  • Experience with complex or large-scale projects (commercial, institutional, or multi-family residential).
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
