Job Title: Practice Coordinator Location(s): Redwood City, CA Position Overview The Practice Coordinator will support both front and back office operations within a fast-paced specialty clinic (Orthopedics). This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities including patient coordination, scheduling, and administrative support. Due to hiring challenges, heavy authorization experience is no longer required; however, candidates must have recent healthcare experience with some exposure to insurance authorization processes in a specialty clinic setting. Key Responsibilities
- Front desk operations (check-in/check-out, patient registration).
- Back office administrative support.
- Insurance authorization processing (basic to intermediate level).
- Surgery scheduling coordination.
- Managing patient flow (30-50 patients per day).
- Communication with providers, patients, and internal departments.
- Documentation and workflow management within Epic/APeX.
- Microsoft Office-based administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Recent healthcare experience in a specialty clinic setting (Orthopedics, Oncology, Imaging, ENT, or other surgical specialties).
- Some insurance authorization experience (recent exposure required).
- Epic experience (required).
- APeX familiarity (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience Requirement
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree with at least 6 months of healthcare experience.
OR
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare administrative experience.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
