*Position Overview* A large, highvisibility commercial project in Barker, NY is seeking an experienced *Superintendent* to lead onsite telecommunications and structured cabling activities. This role requires a strong leader with deep technical knowledge, excellent crew management skills, and the ability to drive installation, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction from start to finish.
You will be responsible for managing daytoday operations, supervising crews, directing installation work, overseeing job quality, and ensuring project deliverables meet customer and operational standards. This is an onsite leadership role supporting a major project buildout with longterm growth potential. *Key Responsibilities* *Leadership & Workforce Management* * Recruit, hire, train, mentor, supervise, and, when needed, discipline project-related staff. * Manage daily workload distribution and staffing levels. * Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance management. * Lead jobsite meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions. *Project Execution & Delivery* * Oversee daily ISP/telecommunications installation operations. * Ensure projects meet deadlines, budget expectations, and customer requirements. * Perform routine job walks, quality checks, and ensure compliance with specifications. * Interpret and work from *blueprints, schematics, and construction documentation*. * Troubleshoot technical issues and provide hands-on support as needed. *Operational & Financial Oversight* * Maintain project profitability through proactive planning and monitoring. * Review job cost postings, invoices, customer billing, and financial reporting. * Ensure all project paperwork is completed accurately and on time: * Timesheets * Material transfers * Work orders * Change orders * Tool logs * Job closeout packages * Identify process gaps and implement improvements. *Customer & Stakeholder Interface* * Act as the main onsite liaison for customer representatives. * Attend construction, facility, or coordination meetings as needed. * Manage customer expectations and resolve issues promptly. *Quality & Safety Management* * Enforce high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance. * Promote a *safety-first* culture across the jobsite. * Support safety and quality teams in field implementation. *Tools & Field Competency* Must be able to operate common industry tools, including: * Punch tools (110/66) * 6/8-position combo crimp tools * Krone/3M/BIX tools * Butt sets * Volt-ohm meters * 4-pair continuity testers * 5-gang punch tools *Required Qualifications* Only candidates who meet the following will be considered: * *5+ years* supervisory or managerial experience * *5+ years* in telecommunications, structured cabling, or related construction environments * *3+ years* as a Lead Communications Technician or similar role * Demonstrated ability to: * Define projects * Write scopes of work * Build estimates * Develop task plans * Manage projects through completion * Proficiency with *Microsoft Office*, including: * Word * Excel * MS Project * Strong understanding of installation standards, best practices, and field operations * Ability to meet driving requirements * Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities *Nice-to-Have Skills* * Experience with scheduling software * Advanced Excel or project reporting abilities * Experience with large commercial or mission-critical builds *What This Opportunity Offers* * A leadership role on a *major commercial build-out* * Opportunity to *build, lead, and develop crews* * Long-term career growth potential as the project expands * The chance to make a significant impact during the early stages of a major site launch *Work Environment* * High-paced construction site * Predominantly on-site field work (not an office role) * Monday-Thursday schedule, with Friday overtime as needed * Requires hands-on supervision and strong daily leadership presence *Why This Role Is Open* The project is expanding and requires additional leadership to: * Support site ramp-up * Oversee multiple crews * Drive installation excellence * Support Project Managers in field execution *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barker, NY. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
