Job Description




As a Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol Officer in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet tenants and visitors, communicate clearly with site contacts, and document observations and activities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific access control requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, common areas, loading areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and other building systems as assigned, and report irregular conditions such as unsecured doors, suspicious behavior, and/or maintenance concerns through the proper channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergency response activities as directed by site policy and local responders.
  • Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and daily activities, and communicate professionally with property management, maintenance staff, and/or public agency representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ Years' Law Enforcement/Military Police/Corrections Experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
