Position Summary/ Department Summary:
The Division of General Pediatrics is seeking an enthusiastic, intelligent, and hardworking individual to work as a Clinical Research Assistant with Dr. Alisa Khan, MD, MPH on multicenter studies of patient safety, family communication, language equity and trauma-informed care, including the Patient and Family Centered I-PASS LISTEN (Language, Inclusion, Safety, and Teamwork for Equity Now) study and several ancillary research studies. The position involves overseeing qualitative and quantitative data collection - such as surveys, interviews, coding, focus groups, administrative data, and sitelevel implementation activities - across Boston Children's Hospital and partnering sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implements processes and procedures to meet study goals and protocol requirements, including data collection across LISTEN sites.
  • Supports study project coordination across LISTEN sites, including assisting with implementation activities, data collection logistics, communication with site partners, and study wrapup tasks.
  • Consents and enrolls patients for studies as needed, by providing detailed information on research studies to prospective participants and families.
  • Obtains data from participants using surveys, interviews, focus groups.
  • Helps with basic qualitative and quantitative data analyses.
  • Contributes to ancillary studies (e.g., evaluation of hospital language documentation accuracy).
  • Coordinates and prepares with minimal supervision the necessary documentation for Institutional Review Board (IRB) and external stakeholders on submissions and track progress to review and approval.
  • Creates and prepares data collection reports and analytical summaries for the research team, ensuring timely review and analysis. Responsibilities may include coding qualitative interviews, summarizing focus group data, and preparing basic quantitative summaries from surveys.
  • Provides administrative support in the training of newly hired staff as required.
  • Provides support with grant writing, preparation, and submissions, ensuring timely completion of all necessary documentation.
  • Assists in preparing scientific abstracts and manuscripts for publication in academic journals.
  • May present study results and create presentations for local and national meetings.
  • Understands and adheres to all policies and procedures and responds to all inquiries.
  • Performs other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • A bachelor's degree in STEM or Psychology is required.

Experience:
  • 1 year of relevant research experience is preferred.
  • A two-year time commitment is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
