Job Information Department of History Open Rank Tenure-Track Professor in Caribbean History The Department of History within the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University is conducting an open-rank search for a historian of the Caribbean, any period. The successful candidate will be able to teach and guide student research on Cuban history, but applicants with any regional specialization in the circum-Caribbean will be considered, with priority for scholars of the African diaspora. Candidates are encouraged to address how their work might contribute to the University's 2030 strategic plan pillars. A Ph.D. in History or a related field is required and must be in-hand before beginning the appointment. The candidate will teach a regular 2-2 load, offering a range of courses for undergraduate and graduate students, from the introductory level to seminars for our M.A. and Ph.D. programs. FIU is a dynamic research institution, and the person hired will have the opportunity to pursue contacts and opportunities via an array of university centers and departments, as well as cultural institutions and organizations in and beyond the vibrant city of Miami.
