What You Can Expect

As a Solar Technician I, you will support the operation and maintenance of solar power facilities at the Hopkins Solar Site located in Dike, TX by performing entry-level technical tasks. You will assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining solar panel systems and related equipment. Your work will involve using digital tools such as SCADA, Maximo, and SAP to manage work orders, document activities, and ensure accurate reporting. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 60 miles of the site.

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:



  • Perform basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on solar panels and related systems under the guidance of senior technicians
  • Operate electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters, amp clamps) and maintain accurate parts inventory and work order documentation
  • Submit timely reports on site activities, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates
  • Participate in required training programs, including on-the-job, self-paced, and classroom-based learning
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards



What You'll Bring



  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • This is an entry-level position where prior experience is not required, but you will be expected to learn basic troubleshooting and repairs on inverters, electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor
  • Ability to work long hours, often outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods



Additional Details



  • This role requires attendance at a worksiteon a daily basis
  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to worksites
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions


Compensation

Hourly Range: $28.00 - $36.52 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
