Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Abilene, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support store teams and guests with strong communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license and a Level III Armed Certification in Texas. Join a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, and driven by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to customers, tenants, and/or staff while following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor areas, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and/or other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, and coordinate with site management and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Carry and handle authorized firearms and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies, including conducting required checks and maintaining secure control of assigned equipment.
  • Complete security-related reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs, and communicate observations and/or concerns to supervisors and site contacts in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years of armed security experience.
  • Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
