Job Description




As a Security Officer Armed - Detention Center Perm Hospital in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and respond to incidents as they arise. You will document security-related activity, support access control where needed, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. Working with a team that values integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation, you will help create a professional presence that helps reduce risk and supports daily operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to government facility staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and other policy violations.
  • Control access at entrances and controlled points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor check-in processes, and directing individuals to appropriate locations in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, alarms, and calls for assistance, while coordinating with local law enforcement and/or on-site personnel as directed.
  • Complete routine documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal management and/or site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Corrections Officer License is required.
  • A Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
  • An Armed Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
