This role will primarily focus on fiber and ultrafast laser technologies from NKT Photonics, part of the Hamamatsu Photonics group. The role This is a senior individual-contributor position. You will own strategic end-user relationships, drive complex solution sales, and develop new relationships and opportunities across universities, national laboratories, and advanced research organizations. Time outside the office is expected to exceed 50%. Location Western U.S. What you'll do Build and grow a high-quality sales funnel focused on ultrafast, fiber, and specialty lasers (primarily NKT Photonics / NKTP products), with expansion into broader Hamamatsu photonics solutions. Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans. Lead customer engagements including site visits, demonstrations, and technical discussions. Act as a trusted advisor, translating research goals into optimal photonics solutions. Manage proposals, negotiations, forecasting, and pipeline using CRM tools Collaborate with Product Management, Strategic Marketing, R&D, and global sales teams. Who you are 5+ years of laser sales, experience in photonics, laser, or scientific instrumentation sales. You hold a B.S. degree in physics, Photonics/Optics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related technical discipline. Strong technical foundation with the ability to engage credibly with researchers and scientists and engineers. Trustedadvisor, customerfocused, with experience owning and advancing complex, multistakeholder sales cycles. Strong communication and presentation skills. Pay Range The target base salary for this role at commencement of employment is expected to be between $100,000 - $150,000 annually, in addition to commission and bonus opportunities. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
