Title: Public Accountant III Location: St. Louis, MO, 63102 Pay Rate: $32-$42/hr Duration: Temp to Hire Benefits: Yes Position type: Onsite Job Description; The client has a new temporary-to-permanent position for an Accountant III at their Downtown office. They're looking for candidates with at least 5 years of experience in public accounting, transportation, or government, and a Bachelor's degree. Preferred candidates will have a graduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, and certifications like CPA, CFE, or CMA. and the position may become permanent based on performance. Role &Responsibilities: Manage general ledger and financial records. Prepare and review complex journal entries. Analyze financial statements and ensure they meet GAAP standards. Conduct variance analysis and provide financial reports to leadership. Help with annual budgets and cost control. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations. Lead audits and improve accounting processes. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants. Assist with special projects and strategic financial planning. Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficient in accounting software (like SAP, Oracle) and Excel. Strong analytical and communication skills. At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those in public transportation or government accounting. Certifications (CPA, CFE, or CMA) are a plus.
