Purpose

As part of the Worley Undergraduate Community, you will work under close supervision and mentorship within the Structural Engineering team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to industrial and energy infrastructure projects while supporting the delivery of structural engineering services to Worley and its customers.

Responsibilities

With guidance and support, you will:

  • Assist in delivering structural engineering services in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and regulatory standards

  • Support the development of structural designs for industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and related systems

  • Assist with preparing structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports

  • Contribute to foundation design, steel and concrete detailing, and material take-offs

  • Perform basic structural analyses using engineering software tools

  • Assist with updating engineering standards and project documentation

  • Participate in internal design reviews and multidisciplinary project meetings

  • Communicate effectively with project team members and follow safety and quality procedures


What You Will Bring

Technical and Industry Experience

  • Foundational knowledge of structural engineering principles, including statics, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and mechanics of materials

  • Basic understanding of relevant structural codes and standards (desirable but not required)

  • Exposure to structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, or similar) is advantageous

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools is beneficial

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Personal Attributes

  • Eagerness to learn and develop technical capability

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to take direction and seek guidance when needed

Education - Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or Structural Engineering

  • In good academic standing and progressing toward degree completion
