* Intake Specialist - Healthcare Services (4Month Contract | Potential for Extension)* *Location:* Springfield, MO
*Pay:* $18-$20/hr (based on experience) Are you looking to continue growth healthcare field? Do you enjoy helping people, managing detailed information, and working in a fastpaced environment? This *Intake Specialist* role is a great fit for earlycareer professionals, recent graduates, or healthcare customer service experts. This is a *4month contract* with the possibility of extension or conversion (dependent on business needs). * What You'll Do* As an Intake Specialist, you'll support patients, providers, and internal teams by: * Entering referral information accurately and on time * Working directly with physicians, referral sources, and staff to obtain proper documentation * Reviewing medical records to ensure compliance before services are rendered * Communicating financial responsibility to patients and collecting payments when needed * Navigating multiple EMR systems to gather required information * Coordinating with insurance verification and sales teams * Offering excellent customer service by phone and email * Following company standards for documentation, shipping, and delivery processes * Participating in afterhours oncall rotation as needed * Why This Role Is a Great Fit* * Ideal for candidates with at least a year of healthcare customer service or administrative experience. * Great for recent graduates with call center experience * Provides handson exposure to insurance guidelines, medical documentation, EMRs, and patient communication * Opportunity to build foundational healthcare administration skills * What You Bring* * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Excellent telephone and customer service abilities * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer navigation * Ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow detailed instructions * Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills * Capacity to learn new systems quickly * High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate's degree preferred) * At least *1 year of work experience* in healthcare, insurance, customer service, call center, billing, pharmacy, or a related field * Compensation* * *$18/hr* - Candidates with call center/customer service experience only * *$20/hr* - Candidates with prior medical or insurance experience plus call center/customer service experience * Work Environment* * Professional office setting with extended computer use * Requires discretion with confidential patient and insurance data * May involve occasional deadlinedriven or urgent authorization tasks * Light lifting up to 10 lbs * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MO. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
