Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Access Control Driver in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Security Officer, you will greet visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, monitor activity, and complete routine patrols to help promote order and help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and the public, document observations, and deliver service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing and/or collecting badges or passes, and maintaining visitor, vehicle, and key control logs as required.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, report irregular activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notify appropriate personnel, and complete required reports and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by assignment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1+ years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
