Job Description




As a Security Officer - Driver Patrol Unit in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a high-tech data center location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. Bring strong customer service and communication skills to a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology data center location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, monitoring visitor sign-in, issuing temporary badges when authorized, and directing authorized visitors and contractors to the correct areas.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, critical corridors, loading and receiving zones, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and communication systems; document routine activity and incidents, and promptly notify site leadership and/or emergency services when escalation is needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing clear directions and supporting incident documentation and reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
