Job Title: Union Benefits Specialist (32BJ)
Language Requirement: Bilingual English/Spanish
Location: Long Island City
Salary: $60,000-$65,000

Position Summary
We're seeking a detail-oriented Union Benefits Specialist to support the accurate administration of employee benefits, with a strong focus on 32BJ union benefit programs. This role is responsible for entering, maintaining, and auditing benefits data, ensuring eligibility and contributions align with union requirements, and partnering closely with HR, Payroll, and the 32BJ Benefit Funds office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter, maintain, and update employee benefits information in HR/benefits systems
  • Process benefit enrollments, terminations, and changes in compliance with 32BJ guidelines
  • Review and verify benefit eligibility, deductions, and compliance with union contracts
  • Coordinate with HR, Payroll, and the 32BJ Benefit Funds office to ensure timely and accurate benefit processing
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit coverage, eligibility, and union-related questions (English/Spanish)
  • Audit and reconcile benefit records to maintain data integrity and compliance
  • Support benefit reporting, documentation, and additional administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications (Required)
  • 2-3+ years of hands-on experience administering 32BJ union benefits
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of 32BJ benefit plans, eligibility rules, and contribution structures
  • Proficiency with HRIS/benefits administration systems
  • High attention to detail, strong organization, and clear communication
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred
  • Experience partnering closely with Payroll and union benefit funds
  • Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union reporting requirements
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
