Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join the Facilities Maintenance team for the Department of Housing & Residence Life.

The Electrician is a critical role which will support the maintenance and repair of electrical systems within our student housing facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our students and staff. This also includes callback work if needed.

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require
special licenses or certification.
Optional Guidelines:
Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Electrical license or certification is preferred

Safety and Health Compliance: Demonstrates an understanding of and maintains conditions that ensure a healthy and safe working environment. Being aware of lockout/tagout situations and etc.

You should be able to intellectually solve problems based on the need of the electrical situation. Come up with a game plan on how to attack a problem with safety at the forefront.
