Description

Position Summary:

Senior Services Specialist - RSVP & SHIBA is responsible for providing direct support of one or more of Catholic Charities Senior Programs; which include the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors program, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, and/or Project Warm-Up in a designated service area within Central Washington. The position is responsible for beneficiary referrals, volunteer recruitment and management, inputting performance into the database(s), scheduling/hosting partnership events; presentations; and other outreach activities, and other deliverables to meet contract and grant requirements. This position provides services to individuals across Walla Walla, Benton, Franklin, and Yakima Counties.

Responsibilities:

Deliver quality direct services within one or more Senior Service Program



  • Respond to service requests from clients, relatives, agencies or community members in a timely manner to match volunteers with service requests
  • Ensure volunteers accurately complete log for hours of services and mileage
  • Maintain confidentiality according to program and professional standards
  • Maintain continued quality improvement and excellent ongoing communication to increase service delivery and ensure client needs are met


Maintain consistent community involvement with community agencies, parishes and other partners



  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with local senior services programs and RSVP partner "stations"
  • Attend/facilitate volunteer meetings and participate in both volunteer and volunteer coordinator training sessions
  • Establish relationships with community organizations that are sources of volunteer referrals
  • Collaborate with the Senior Services Lead and other Senior Services staff members for any local presentations at parishes, businesses, senior centers, libraries, or resource fairs to increase public awareness of services available
  • Collaborate with Senior Services Lead for volunteer appreciation activities within the local designated service area
  • Travel periodically within Central Washington and flex working schedule to accommodate weekend and/or evening events.


Complete documentation and data collection on all services provided



  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records on clients, volunteers, stations, and services provided according to grant and program requirements
  • Submit personal timesheets, expense requests, and reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitor volunteer/beneficiary matches to ensure service was provided as requested
  • Provide Grant and Data Specialist information on volunteer hours required for tracking


Participate in supervision and team meetings



  • Participate in supervision with the Senior Services Lead
  • Participate in Senior Services team meetings
  • Participate in an annual performance evaluation according to the agency guidelines and set goals for individual and team performance


Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance of this position. Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring medium physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 60% of the time.

Non-physical Requirements:

Education



  • Bachelors' Degree in Social Sciences or related field, preferred
  • High School diploma required


Experience



  • 1 years' experience in community partnership and/or volunteer management, and working with senior and disabled population preferred
  • Experience working on grants and knowledge of Medicare a plus


Special Skills



  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • Strong communication and data collection skills
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to relate well with volunteers and clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong computer skills, data entry, and knowledge of Microsoft Suite


Licensure, Registration, Certification



  • Valid Washington State driver's license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities' liability insurance provider


Employment is conditional upon:



  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required



Wage Range: $24 - $29 hourly, depending on education and experience. This position is funded through June 30th, 2026

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, available to work after hours for job fairs and recruitment events
