Loyola University Chicago's School of Communication invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in digital advertising and strategic communication.
Successful candidates should have strong training and experience in the advertising industry with the latest technologies at top agencies, preferably with significant work at international firms while also having industry contacts in the Chicago area. Recent industry experience should include global social commerce, livestream shopping, influencer marketing, digital agency management, social media advertising, AI advertising, CRM, TikTok campaigns, and retail advertising with recent research in advertising, AR and AI advertising and proficiency for conducting research in a biometric lab. The ideal candidate would also be familiar with using advertising and strategic communication for social change and social justice.

Commitment to the social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion mission of Loyola University Chicago is expected. Interest in contributing to the School of Communication's growing international presence and community engagement is desired.
This new faculty member will teach courses in the latest technological advances in advertising and strategic communication, such as Analytics, Insights & Strategy, Search & Display Advertising, AI Advertising, Social Media Advertising, Advertising/PR Research and Analytics, and Big Data Research and Application for Advertising.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in a related field by August 24, 2026, the start date at Loyola University Chicago; have significant academic or professional experience in digital advertising, strategic communication, digital media and data; and have the potential to be an outstanding teacher and productive scholar.

Additional Salary Information
This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. Salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
