This position reports to:

Supervisor (Production)

Manages the quantity of materials and components are available OR in process to the Paint cell to support the production schedule. Monitors the production floor to manage inventory levels in the Paint area to help keep the flow of production moving. Maintains machine set-up and schedule as related to the production operations.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Safety

  • Understands and follows plant safety policies and procedures
  • Avoid or prevent hazardous conditions from developing
  • Wears required protective equipment
  • Dresses and conducts self in a safe manner
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S
  • Participates in plant safety objectives

Job Functions

  • Assist in the development and coordination of the daily production schedule
  • Responsible for basic machine set-up and changeovers.
  • Review the daily production schedule for all shop orders involving component parts or odd/non-standard materials and verify that there are enough quantities available or in-process to support the production schedule including allowances for downstream scrap
  • Communicate any material/component issues impacting the schedule to the Supervisor in a timely manner to prevent unplanned press downtime
  • Generate pick lists as required to support Paint Department
  • Organize and control on-floor inventory of materials/components, performing all necessary transactions to ensure that WIP inventory accuracy is maintained
  • Perform as assigned other similar or related duties.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 6 months preferred related experience and/or training
  • Previous experience in physically demanding work in factory environment preferred
  • Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs
  • Can work overtime to meet Business Objectives
  • Can work a weekend schedule as needed.

Skills and/or Training

  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand various written instructions in English
  • Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner
  • Lift up to 40 Pounds
  • Stand for long periods
  • Good hand dexterity
  • Strong math skills
