Position Summary

The National Field Head, Oncology, is responsible for overseeing and leading all Oncology field medical teams, including Multiple Myeloma, GynOnc, Myelofibrosis, and Lung/GU/GI MSL teams. This senior leadership role focuses on execution of field medical plans, cultivating a high-performance culture, ensuring compliance, and retaining top talent across teams. The National Field Head, Oncology, serves as the accountable leader for field medical in oncology, supporting scientific exchange, clinical development, and pipeline priorities. As a core member of the US Oncology Medical Affairs Leadership Team, this role requires exceptional vision, operational excellence, and the ability to inspire and empower senior leaders across therapeutic areas.

This role is focused on driving results, ensuring compliance, and cultivating leadership excellence across multiple oncology field medical teams. The National Field Head, Oncology will serve as a key strategic partner to GSK Oncology, delivering field insights that shape pipeline strategies and advance clinical development while fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and innovation.

Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Provide oversight and direction to Therapeutic Area Field Heads and set clear expectations and performance standards to ensure consistent, high-quality execution of field medical plans.

  • Apply data-driven customer segmentation and prioritization to focus field activity on highest impact customers and programs.

  • Ensure processes in place to monitor day-to-day field activities, address execution gaps, and optimize processes to meet strategic goals.

  • Ensure field teams deliver high-quality medical voice of customer (mVoC) insights to inform development plans and organizational priorities.

  • Manage field budgets, headcount, and resource deployment to align with organizational priorities.

  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and performance-driven culture across all field medical teams.

  • Gather and synthesize field feedback to inform design, planning and continuous improvement of field solutions and operations.

  • Own governance, monitoring and compliance objectives to ensure ethical and compliant stakeholder engagement. Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to field operations and clinical trial support.

  • Build and retain high-performing talent, lead leadership development and succession planning.

Why You?

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals

  • PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent advanced health professional degree.

  • 8+ years in pharmaceutical industry roles, with at least 5 years in Oncology-focused field medical leadership positions, including leading multiple teams.

  • Experience implementing processes for performance and compliance oversight of field medical operations.

  • Experience building and scaling field medical teams during portfolio growth.

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Strong oncology expertise, with demonstrated knowledge across therapeutic areas such as lung, GU, GI, hematology, and myelofibrosis.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build, inspire, retain and align large teams.

  • Proven ability to build and manage cross-functional collaborations with global medical and clinical operations teams.

  • Experience leading field medical teams in support of both marketed and pipeline assets and prioritizing across multiple products or tumor areas

  • Experience building performance-based field medical cultures with a results orientation to translate execution into measurable impact

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience deploying performance metrics and data visualization tools to drive strategic decision-making.

  • Track record of fostering innovation and collaboration across large, diverse teams.
