Responsibilities
Act as a lead project manager and technical advisory to clients for energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization projects.
- Interact with broad range of client staff, including c-suite, senior-level facilities personnel, and maintenance management teams as required.
- Manage and drive pre-qualification and/or preliminary assessment studies to identify energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization opportunities.
- Create business cases (technical; economic/financial) for clients to pursue large scale energy projects.
- Provide Quality Assurance / Quality Control service managing ESCO ESPC development - client RFP process; facilitating Investment Grade Audit phases and reviewing IGA reports; strategic advisory and co-development of Measurement & Verification, Commissioning, O&M, and Training plans; lead technical review efforts for ECM scope feasibility, energy models, engineering savings calculations.
- Provide Quality Assurance / Quality control services managing ESCO ESPC implementation - facilitate and participate in ECM design reviews; manage ECM scope installation; assist with installation verification process (as needed); facilitate and participate in Commissioning and M&V activities; construction document management.
- Review and comment on Commissioning Reports, M&V Reports, and other Close-Out documentation.
- Manage and/or conduct walk-through audits of large commercial/industrial/institutional facilities to identify energy conservation opportunities, recommend steps to investigate and implement the opportunities, and provide audit reports (this scope/service is rare but may occur)
- Manage, and occasionally attend/witness, M&V and Commissioning and acceptance testing activities for large scale energy projects.
- Collaboratively work with the multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure reviews and recommendations are completed to professional standard.
- Keep abreast of technology trends and changes in this rapidly evolving market.
- Assist the business development team with identifying new market opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of energy industry experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Engineer-in-Training may be acceptable on a case-by-case basis)
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Strong technical background in energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization projects
- Experience in the Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) industry a plus
- Experience with advanced energy modeling software a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications
