Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, this position provides key laboratory support for research focused on tumor immunology, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy with emphasis on lung cancer and pancreatic cancer. The role involves performing a variety of in vitro and in vivo experiments, including tissue culture, qRT PCR, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, immunofluorescence, animal work, and fluorescent activated cell sorting. Additional responsibilities include preparing data for publications and grant proposals, managing supply and equipment orders, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting general lab maintenance. The incumbent may also supervise lab assistants and students, contributing to an efficient, collaborative, and well organized research environment.

Salary: $28.69 - $34.21 hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cells in tissue culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in chemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology.
  • Ability to keep inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Skill in using micropipettors, microscopes, centrifuges, histology equipment, CO2incubators, waterbaths, spectrophotometer, pH meter, autoclaves, FACS.
  • Ability to prepare data for publication and grant applications
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cells in tissue culture.
  • Demonstrated skill in RT-PCR's, flow cytometry, and immunological and molecular biologyassays.
  • A Bachelors Degree in the Life Sciences or Biochemistry or equivalent experience/training
